Honey colored with a finger-thick white head that holds fairly well and leaves some minor lace in its wake. Odd, unusual aroma, but not particularily spicy (it's spiced with fire-roasted chilies, bay, ginger, and black pepper). Light bodied and crisp on the palate. The flavor is pretty basic malt, and there is a spiciness to it, but it's not really hot. Nor is it particularly flavorful. Ho-hum. Interesting but not overly drinkable.

And now for something completely different...

Yeah, it's blonde and golden, but it is spiced with chilies, bay ginger, and black pepper, with the black pepper taste being the most assertive. Give it a 4.5 for taste, because is interesting, bold, and unique, but call it a 3 for drinkability--by the time you finish your pint, your taste buds will be fatiqued.

Triumph offers 10 oz servings, which you might want to use with this beer. It might not be your thing, or even if you like it, you might tire of it quickly. If you like it like I did, hell, just order another.

There's an ice cream cone head, puffing out well north of the glass's upper lip. The color is gold with a tinge of copper.

The beer appeared like many other beers. It had a nice rich gold color with an eggshell head. The first hint of a sever difference was the strange harshness in the aroma. This impression regressed once the beer was tasted. It had a very poor start tasting like beer that had pepper juice added. The beer was medium and oily to the feel and finished with an unpleasant burn in the back of the throat that dimished the experience, and made me glad that I chose to drink it first rather than last as it fell in the sampler as laid out by our wonderful waiter. I doubt I would ever drink this beer again. I knew up front that it was brewed with both jalepeno and cabanero peppers. Having experienced how poorly a fresh well brewed pepper beer comes off, I will now know to stay clear of any others.
