Review from notes on 6/4/10.
Poured brilliantly clear with a rich deep copper body and a nicely formed and retaining white head. Trails of lace all over the place. Unfortunately, that's as good as this beer gets. Aroma is quite muted. Only a small bit of honey/biscuit/caramel and very light pine in the nose and the taste is, to use a different descriptor, flabby. This didn't do much for me except looking pretty in the glass. A touch thin and fizzy. Meh.

Pours out a nice orange amber with a small white head.
Smell. small light piney hoppiness with a caramel maltiness. malt aroma is dominant. not bad.
Taste. Pretty good, malts dominate, but there is a nice piney hoppiness. starts off sweet, but finishes dry.
Mouthfeel is ok, but a little too thin for me (i've said this for almost every triumph beer), though the alcohol content does give it more body. but the balance is pretty good. nice amount of carbonation.
Overall a nice beer, good flavor and complexity, just with it was fuller.

On tap on 5/12/06, pint glass.
Bright orange/dark amber pour with a moderate white head that slowly fades.
Great taste, almost like a bit of the abbey tripple was in this, small hops flavor with a nice robust flavor that follows. Not bitter like other maibocks I've had, and a great addition to the current triumph listing.
Easy to drink, smooth - refreshing on a hot day (which it was).
Definitely worth a try, very nice style.
Cheers.

Clear orange in color with a nice fluffy and large bubble-laced head. The aroma was rather weak as some caramel was detectable. Flavor was of sweet malts, caramel, light piney bitterness, some graininess, and a hint of sour grapes. Higher alcohol level is noticeable.
The mouthfeel is smooth at the start and mildly dry at the finish. Medium bodied. Even with the noticable alcohol levels, I found this to be extremely drinkable and enjoyable.
