Whoah!!!! Loaded with alcohol character and wood, the apple brandy overrides everything else in the aroma, letting through only snippets of the yeasty fruitiness and Brettanomyces underneath. The original tripel is lost, and just becomes a platform for the wood, brandy, and brett. It's also much darker in color, appearing deep copper; most likely picked up from the wood. The flavor is quite rich, but not as massive as the aroma, and far more nuances come into play. Some vanilla from the wood (or is it from the original tripel?) softens it, and there's more fruitiness to it than just apple, but it's kind of non-descript (maybe pear, plum, red cherry). Leathery, earthy Brettanomyces rounds it out as well, and it's far easier to drink than the intensity of the nose suggests. Very nicely done! Remarkably unique!
