Has sort of an unimpressive yellow appearance.. just a yellowish, straw color with not much head. Aroma is fruity and has the typical witbier characteristics. A very, very, very faint hint of an almost-artificial characteristic to the aroma that is similar to lemon scent, but it doesn't take much away. Sort of candy-like falvors in with the typical citrus and coriander. There is a somewhat-flowery flavor in there, as well. It's not very pleasant but is just odd and I could see it not bothering most people. Mouth and drink are fairly smooth, not hard to drink or anything, full-bodied with a decent level of carbonation. Not one of my favorite witbiers, though.

This Witbier was on-tap at the New Hope Triumph around 10/11/2008. They served it to me in their standard Pilsner glass.
This has to be the haziest beers I've seen so far. The best way I can describe the color is that you take a lemon yellow and mix in a small tint of ruby red grapefruit. It had a nice clor to it, but the head of foam was al ittle less desireable. It was about a 1/4 of an inch in height and white in color. It did however have decent retention that left behind foamy white rings and about 4 small blots of white lace around the glass.
The aroma statred off citrusy with some lemon peel and a few other citrus fruits. But when it was swirled around, I got a big whiff of ripe banana, cloves, and a tiny hint of malted wheat. As you can tell, this beer needs to be swirled around to unleash the banana and cloves.
The taste was all about the malted wheat, but toward the middle it tasted like they transformed into honey graham crackers. There wasn't all that much behind the graham crackers. All I got was the slightest hint of banana, a touch of cloves, and a small slice of dried citrus fruits.
This Witbier was medium bodied with a clove based aftertaste filled with a ton of cloves, a pinch of ripe banana, and a slight touch of malted wheat. This clove based aftertaste won't stick around for too long.
I liked how it was heavy on the banana in the nose, malted wheat in the taste, and cloves in the aftertaste. It looked like this beer wanted to give you some variety than just malted wheat all over or just banana all over. Creative beer. If it's still available at Triumph, I'd say give this one a shot at.
