Had this served on tap at PJ Whelihans on Haddon Avenue of all places. It was poured a slightly opaque dark brown with a wispy dark brown head. Slight retention and lacing. Aromas were full of caramel and a hint of smoked.
Dark sugar flavors are the dominant ones here, loads of caramel, with hints of vanilla and smoke on the finish.
Medium heavy brew that finishes clean. It was extremely drinkable while watching the Ravens stomp the Cowboys.
Overall: I originally was drawn to the tap because I've never had a Triumph brew before. Turned out that this one was subtle and tasty.
