Pours jet black with a fantastic white head that keeps forming once poured. Great visual on this beer. The smell is tons of coffee with some sweet chocolate. This comes right through in the taste too. At times I felt like I was drinking a coffee more than a beer. As it warmed up a little more I found myself enjoying it a little less. Might be because it's not all that carbonated so it goes back to the feel more of a coffee. It's also pretty sweet so this is a decent dessert beer. I'd have it again but it's not ready for the big leagues.

served from nitro tap in a 10 oz snifter.

appears an opaque jet black, with off-white colored thick head. good retention and lacing.

aroma is strong roasted coffee, can smell it from 2 feet away. taste is also coffee heavy as anticipated by the name, with some vanilla notes in there too. the sweetness of the oatmeal is also present. mouthfeel is smooth and on the thicker side. no hint of the higher ABV.

overall, a bold flavorful beer. it seemed to be by far the most adventurous of the beer they had on tap.

WOW! I've had lots of stouts, lots of BIG name stouts...Abyss, Dark Lord, KBS, IST, etc. This American Double Imperial Stout brewed by Triumph really holds it's own. What a beer, and what an experience! Poured from tap into a small snifter. Pours a dark black...very murky, with a very nice finger size creamy off white head. Head remains for a long time, basically the entirety of the drink. Very creamy and sticky lacing as well.

Aroma is down in rating only due to it's weaker nature. It's not very strong...but for what's there...lots of sweet milk chocolate and maltiness. Not much booze deteckted in the nose at all. Again, lot's of malts present.

Mmmm...tasty! Wow, I can't believe how good this is. Very creamy mouthfeel. Tastes like your average great BIG stout with a Hershey's chocolate bar, french vanilla coffee, and brown sugar oatmeal all mixed into one malty stout! Only wish I could have left with a growler, because from what I understand, once it's gone...it's gone!

Had a draft at the Philly location today for lunch. Brewed with oatmeal, coffee, chocolate malt, etc. Texture was nice & creamy. Smelled of coffee and chocolate. Good tasting beer. Served in a snifter. If I remember correctly, ABV was about 9%. Overall, it was pretty decent. Would work well as an after dinner (or lunch) beer.
