On-tap @ the Princeton Triumph into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Beautiful bronze color with an off white 1/4" head that reduced to a small thing ring after a few minutes. Spotty, but creamy looking lacing clinging as my glass is tilted. Exactly what an Oktoberfest/Marzen should look like.

Smell: Not a strong nose, but I easily detect caramel, malt with a hint of spice and sweetness in the finish.

Taste: Equivalent to the nose...Malt, caramel, light spice, bready, with just the right level of sweetness. Some beers of this style tend to overdue it with sweetness but Triumph got this one spot-on. I like this one a lot.

Mouthfeel: Surprisingly creamy and light on the tongue with mild carbonation. The bubbles steadily rising from the bottom of the glass made me think carbonation was going to be higher.

Overall: A very easy drinking, flavorful Oktoberfest. I'm going to grab a few growlers of this to enjoy at home.

On tap at the brewery poured into a pint glass. Pours adeep reddish/brown with an average sized fizzy light beige head. Aroma of grains, bread, citrus and slight spice. Very bubbly and lively carbonation over a medium body and a very creamy finish. Flavor of brown crusty bread, grains, spice, and slight citrus. Not bad, but far too creamy on the finish.

Appearance: Pours caramel brown and very clear with a bit of white head on top and little lacing.

Smell: I get some sweet bready notes although not nearly as much as I'd expect. Mostly caramel and molasses from what my smell receptors are telling me.

Taste: Similar to the nose, a big caramel flavor right off the bat. There's also some earthy hop presence but it is really faint. Overall this is more reminiscent of a cross between an Oktoberfest and a brown ale.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with a bit of a dry finish.

Drinkability: Not as bready/biscuity as I'd expect from an oktoberfest but actually pretty drinkable. Goes well with most of their burgers and more flavorful entrées.

Here is how I can describe Triumph Octoberfest:

A: This beer has a nice Amber/Copper color.

S: There is some faint bready smell

T: It has a semi-bitter taste, from the hops that were used.

M: This beer goes down smooth

D: This beer is very drinkable. This is a beer that I would drink yearround if availible.

Pours a bubbly, clean, clear copper color with a very thin off-white head. Looks like a decent pour.

Aroma is pretty minimal, which is sort of weird. Slight brown sugar and a little metal and that is about it.

Flavor is caramel and light sugar. The metal smell comes through in the flavor with some bitterness but not from hops.

Okay, but nothing special.
