Listed on the board at the brew pub in Princeton as an "IBA" (India Brown Ale) I can only assume that this is nothing more than a hopped up brown ale and the taste test would agree. This brew shows a dark mahogany color with a fair off-white head and excellent lacing. It delivers a grassy swampwater hops aroma with mild molasses malt. Very nice. The flavor is full of sharp grass hops and bready malt, maybe more precisely along the lines of brown bread. I would call this a medium body ale with fizzy carbonation and a pleasantly crisp feel. As you get into it you might also detect a bit of smoke and a touch of chocolate. All in all I liked this enough to choose it as my growler to bring back to Connecticut, though it was a bit of a tough choice against the Jewish Rye, but I enjoyed it thoroughly at home as well. Basically this is a brown ale and an solid IPA combined and it achieves a fairly balanced, very drinkable result. Recommended if it comes up again.
