another average brew here from basil t's toms river. the dirty tap lines come into play again, but don't kill the beer as much this time. it pours a basic looking light amber colour with little to no head. the smell has the typical medium hopped pale ale base to it, with some creaminess thrown into the mix as well. the flavour and body is very light, even for an east coast pale ale. hops are a bit more subdued than in the nose and there's really not much else in terms of flavour to write about. is this one bad? no. is it boring? yes. at least crank up the hops on this one a bit, i'd say. i expected more.

I had planed to leave after having this beer. But after drinking it, I had to have something else to cleanse the palate.

This was not a particularly attractive beer. Poured with no lead. While there were little bubbles on the side of the glass, you could not tell it from the pour or the drinkin. A decent light reddish color, the total absence of head was not welcome.

The cascade hops were present in the nose. OK, so we were hopefully moving up. Then the true test, the taste. You could taste the cascades, but thats it. Nothing much else. very little body, this is at best an average tasting beer. For a brewpub, an average tasting beer is very much a let down.

Unfortunately, this beer didn't get better. I don't know if it was the bottom of the barrell, but this felt kind of flat in teh mouth. If better carbonated, this might work, although it could use alittle more body. Served this way, no, i don't think so.
