This version is the 6.8% Mailbock Lager. Pours red/amber with a thin white head that fades away. Aroma is fruity and mild. Taste is malty with some fruit notes. Feel is good and smooth. Overall a decent Mailbock but not anything special.

This was on-tap at the Basil T's in Toms River on 8/9/2008. They served it to me in a slender Pilsner glass.
Their Maibock poured a reddish amber with a small tint of copper mixed in with it. The head of foam was about 1/2 an inch in height and white in color. This head of foam had good retention that left behind foamy white rings along the edge and one single mustache of white lace. The aroma was too sweet and yeasty. But when the beer was swirled around, sweet juicy fruits emerge as well as a hint of toasted malts. I'm glad the fruits and malt came out from the back because those aromas saved the aroma from being a disasterous aroma. The taste was the same as the aroma. That means it was sweet and yeasty with toasted malts and a touch of juicy fruits. I guess it was reversed a bit. In the aroma there was more fruit than malts and in the taste there were more malts than fruits, but both of them were sweet and yeasty. This was a light bodied beer with a faint aftertaste of sweet yeast and a drop of toasted malts. In the end, this Maibock needs to be worked on. It was too sweet with too much yeast and not enough of anything else. I doubt I would ever order this beer again.

Very good maibock and this one is pretty much according to Hoyle.
Was served somewhat warm but the mouthfeel was very smooth. Butterscotch notes (or whatever the typical maibock tastes are).
Not much head, but very pretty browinsh (again, typical Maibock) color.
May have a different name, but that's what the server said.

Well, I forgot I had had this in the past. Ordered this recently, and man, was it not good. Butter tastes completely out of control. Tastes like they are using Ringwood yeast, and it didn't go well.
Leaving my original numbers alone.
