Presentation: On tap, served in pint glass
Appearance: Poured a ruby red with half-finger white head and white film on glass
Smell: Malty and bready
Taste: Follows the smell
Mouthfeel: Medium
Drinkability: Not something I would drink quickly
Overall: A decent brew from a beer wasteland

Served as a medium red colored beer with moderate off-white head.
Smell shows some bready malt, and a touch of citrus.
Taste has a firm malt backbone, with just enogh balancing hops to keep it interesting.
Left some nice taste sensations in the mouth.
An easy easy drinking beer. Very refreshing.

This is one of Toms River Basil T's year round drafts. I had this one on 3/8/08. They said this one was a take on the Irish Red style. It was served to me in a Pilsner glass.
It poured a dark mahagony brown/amber that had a 1/2 inch head of white foam. This head of foam quickly dissipated into a tiny white film and streaks of white lace. It had an extremely earthy aroma with a pinch of citrus fruits behind it. The taste was earthy with a few sweet dried crispy citrus hops and a touch of citrus fruits. I like earth as much as the next person, but not when it's in my beer. It was a light bodied beer with an aftertaste of more earth and citrus fruits. There was far too much earth in this beer! Enough is enough already! I sure hope this isn't the way they wanted this beer come out. If you like earth taste in your beer, then make sure you order this one.
