Pours a clear, amber/golden color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and good lacing with lots of suspended sediment. Smells of hops, sweet malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of roasted malt. Fits the style of a Maren / Oktoberfest. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly thick with an average carbonation level. Tastes of hops, sweet malt, and slight roasted malt. Overall, the yeast flavor is lacking, but otherwise a decent oktoberfest.

Looks very festively orange / copper with a fleeting head retention, light carbonation, and no lacing. Malty and fruity in the nose and flavor, approaches ale-like estery smells and flavors. A blend of malts and grain that doesn't bother me much in the flavor, but leaves a light harshness in the feel. Firm hoppiness seems a blend of oranges, mangos, and grassy flavors and bitterness. Firm body from beginning to end, but a bit bite-ey in the end.

Pint glass poured at the brewpub on 10/17/06. Clear copper colored body with little head.
Smell was subdued. Malty.
Taste was surprisingly hoppy for an Oktoberfest. Well balanced. I had expected a profile higher in malts and lower in hops. This was very refreshing and not too sweet. The menu stated this beer registered 26 bitterness units.
Mouthfeel was medium bodied with mild carbonation. I would definitely order this one again.

Ok, but not my favorite Bosco's brew. Served in a pint glass, the head, if there was one, had dissipated into lacing by the time I got it. That soon faded into nothing. Amber color, not quite as dark as I expected. Not much bubbling action.
Mild smell, citrus, mostly grassy hops. Definitely basil. I detected just some grapey sweetness, no toffee or caramel.
Immediately unsatisfying taste--metallic, iron, astringent. Throughout the glass astringency grew and metallic taste faded. The malt seemed quite downplayed, though the sweetness became more detectable. Unbalanced.
Astringency lasted through the aftertaste. Dry and a bit tacky.
Good mouthfeel, medium fullness, not too weak.
I didn't find this one particularly drinkable or enjoyable.
