Boscos came up for the Schlafly Repeal festival, and brought this solid IPA with them, Poured a light golden, bit of chill haze, with a ivory head. Not much lace.

But the aroma - hops and more hops, which lead into the quaff nicely. Hints of citrus, orange and bubblegum. Quite a nice American IPA- tasty and well done. This beer would pair well with the STL hot summer days, and pulled pork sandwiche.

Body was perhaps a tad on the light side, but it really made for an easy drinking brew.

Clear golden pour with a good head and some of the best lacing I've ever seen..

Really doesn't smell all that hoppy... Maybe a bit with some sweet malt..

Starts off sweet and malty then explodes with citrusy hops that become more and more pleasant and juicy as it warms...

Thoroughly enjoyed this brew all the way... Couldve sat and downed one after another..

A - Nice clear golden color with a good one finger head when delivered.

S - Very citrusy. Didnt pick up the overwhelming hop aroma that I was expecting out of it.

T - Nice hop bite but not overwhelming. The citrusy aromas come through in the taste as well.

M/D - A little rough around the edges. Good carbonation. A little more one-dimensional than what I was hoping for.

Wow, I really liked this Beer! It went great with my Pollo Diablo Pizza. The hop taste didn't overwhelm the beer, which was my inital fear of the HopGod. It poured like cloudy golden hay and the cloudiness did not dissipate due to the bottle conditioning. The initial taste was not uinlike that of a typical IPA but as the bottle warmed, whoah! It turned into a Golden nectar. The mouthfeel was a little filmy but what do you expect from an unfiltered brew? The drinkibility is up there. Purely enjoyable as I would have had a few more if I had the time.

Thoroughly enjoyed at the brewery. Whenever I read that a beer is a Hop-God Ale, my mind immediately begins to calculate IBU's in access of 200+, so to read 80 IBU's on the menu, I know that Tom would thinkof this beer as Hop God Lite. The beer begins with a mild caramel / malt sweetness that is quickly consumed with juicy, fruity, bitter American Hops. A heavily floral boquet of citrus fruits (oranges, grapefruit, pineapple) and a heavy dose of pine and fresh-cut grass blend with a lemon-grass scent and flavor taking this beer clear across the spectrum of hop character. The body struggles to provide a pillar for the hop additions, but manage to keep the beer modestly firm and timidly sweet. The beer dries out considerably toward the finish leaving a citrus and pine resin on the palate. The malt additions and body are held in check intentionally to let the hops shine, without pushing the beer into a high-gravity catagory. This beer is certainly a showcase for hops. Well done beer; although one-dimensional, proves to be hightly seductive.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a clear dark golden color; the modest head leaves some lace behind

Smell: Pine dominates the oily aroma with a bit of tart citrus as well

Taste: Biscuity up front followed by a piney blast into a finish that is herbacious and slightly astringent; I also detected some hotness at the end from the alcohol

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with prickly carbonation; warmth in the gullet after the swallow

Drinkability: This is one of those beers that heads too far into the one dimensional category, IMO; it needs more malt flavor and the hot finish is disturbing

Brewed in observation of Bosco's self-declaired "National Hops Day" in Feb., this is specifically intended as a "more hops!" ale, and is nicely done. 70 IBU's of hoppy goodness. A bit rough around the edges with hop-oils. The barest hint of a syrupy-mouthfeel, but hopping converts it to more of a chewy sensation. Not big enough to be a double IPA, but more than enough hops horsepower to fall squarely in the APA category.
