I had this on tap at the Franklin location.
A: It poured a dark brown color that was one of the lighter Black IPAs I've ever seen. On top of the liquid, around the edges, a mild off-white ring was present.
S: Smelled exactly like a chocolate-covered citrus fruit with a fairly strong potency. Nice!
T: The fruit component was fairly bitter. Lots of flavor here, and the dark malt melds well with the bitter.
M: Here is where the beer fails to my mind: It simply wasn't voluptuous or drinkable and throughout the session, I just couldn't put my finger on it. Perhaps it could have used a bit more syrupiness or stickiness?
O: Admittedly, this is not my favorite style, but I've tried some in the past that I've really dug. This one was just middle of the road.
