A 500ml bottle with a BB of July 2010 - so it's about 6 months past it's best. Picked up from a local offie that sells cheap booze. I've had this before and thought it was decent.
Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A golden hue with nice carbonation - trails of fine bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass. It has good clarity, but there are definitely fine particles floating throughout the liquid. One finger of foamy white head that remains for a minute or two. Weak aroma of light malt with slight graininess. There is also something else, a solvent-like off odour that underlies the main smell.
Taste is weak malt, with little bitterness. Quite watery. The off-note is also apparent here - it has a mild piquant quality reminiscent of solvent or some other additive. Not the ideal flavour for a beer. Mouthfeel is OK; tingly from the carbonation. No obvious aftertaste.
Overall, pretty disappointing. I remember this being better when I had it previously, although I suspect that the considerable age of this bottle doesn't help.
