Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Deep apricot orange with an opaque like appearance, but with some very good clarity. Hints of orange, to lemon yellow around the edges for the body, and showing some nice rising if sparse amount of pin head carbonation. Head is off tan, creamy to thin, with a good solid easy three fingers off the pour. Nice retention and island puck in the centre, and some pill like lacing.
Simple and nice pleasant hop aroma. Faint grapefruit to stronger tropical and apricot notes. A nice mild sweetness, and slightly juicy as well with the malts being left behind. Pretty straight forward but solid.
Interesting palate. Slight wet but also a big tight fizz on the front tongue on first sip. The mid palate washes with some simple tropical notes, and there's a strange candy like sweetness to this interestingly. Finishes nice and dense with a moderate almost minty and herbal aftertaste. Very odd sweetness seems to pick up more of the green like hop notes of mint and herbs as it drinks. Mouthfeel manages some very light and nearly wet tendencies.
Interesting IPA, kind of a bit unexpected and slightly odd. But drinkable and enjoyable.

Rogue never been a favorite and this one is consistent. Great looking and nice mouth feel. Otherwise pretty ordinary. Orange color, nice firm white head. Little in the way of current IPA characteristics.

Got to share with a buddy who brought it back from Portland. Liked the balance

Bomber purchased recently at PDX and served chilled into a shaker pint glass.
PDX Carpet IPA is a slightly hazy dark copper color. The head is thick at first but settles to a skim layer and leaves no lacing.
Aroma is musky and somewhat hoppy but not as much as I expected for an IPA.
Flavor is definately PNW style IPA with more grass and pine than citrus. The malts are more than just a background note with caramel, toasted nuts, and molasses.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Good balance and drinkable
Overall not a fantastic IPA but certainly unique and worth picking up if you're ever at the Portland airprt.

Burnt orange and golden color, two-finger head on the pour, lots of carbonation. Mostly citrus on the nose, although a hop presence is there as well. Lacks the big hop "bite" that accompanies most IPAs, instead the hops sort of linger alongside flavors of citrus (mostly lemon), earthiness and hops, and some floral/grain tastes. As indicated by the brewer's notes on the bottle, this isn't meant to be a traditional IPA, and I agree that it isn't; it is actually a session-able beer coming in at 6.4% ABV and 46 IBUs. While the citrus flavors are nice, they actually overpower the hops to a little bit, making this beer a slight disappointment. But hey, it's a marketing gimmick from Rogue, what do you expect? For a novelty beer not bad, but it could definitely be better.
