caramel in color with an off-white head that reached a height of around two inches before settling back down. Light lacing coating the side of the glass. Aroma is hops, piney with light citrus notes but a load of cinnamon and spice as well. Seems as though I have run into this before with another of their one off's, just seems really familiar. Letting it open up gives me nice touches of caramel and bready malts, a rich and well balanced hoppiness that seems to fade in and out during the session. Nice feel, hearty with great carbonation that still allows it to have some pop to it

The aroma is of west coast hops mixing with an assertive malt profile. Thick and bready with notes of caramels. A slight Pacman yeastiness.

The taste balanced by an above average hop profile (for the style) much more citrusy than the aroma, but still quite citrus and piney. It actually ends fairly dry, almost metallic, which is a bonus, leaving the hop resins to last long after the swallow. The dryness yields a lighter than average body which cuts the strong sweet flavors in the beer. Carbonation is at average levels which seems right.

Overall this is not a bad beer but not as good as I remembered it from last year. The malt profile falls a little flat compared to your average winter warmer; not sure if that was the intention, anyway... Overall, it seems a little too resinous and slick for me.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Churchkey

Pours a dark amber-crimson color with a nice off white head. The nose brings forward some sharp notes of citrus and pine hops, with the citrus toward the front. The taste adds in a bit of light amber malt with a good dose of bitterness. Some orange and grapefruit rind come through. Pretty bold body with some really nice bitterness levels.

My bomber looks like the mogul ale but it's listed as a strong ale on the bottle so I assume it's this one. Thick frothy head. A brown body which looks very clear. Fresh hops and a very nice dark toasted malt in the aroma. A faint sense of the alcohol as well. The hops and dark malt work very well together in this one. Both are dominant and yet mingle nicely. A slight warming from the booze. Nice full bodied strong ale. Very smooth and drinkable.

Thick, long-lasting two-finger head. Lots of chunky lace on the glass. The color is a deep brown, but light does make its way through. Appears clear.

Excellent blend of fresh aroma hops and darker, toasted malts. Faint alcohol presence in the background.

Relatively dry beer. More bisuity and toasty on the tongue than the nose. Assertively hopped which becomes stronger in the swallow and then the aftertaste, which lasts a long time. Thin against my expectations, but the body is fine. Deceptively easy to consume.

Had this brew on tap last evening while at Mahar's. Brew poured to a nice dark brown color with a good sized off white / light tan color with pretty good retention and lacing. Nice hoppy beer comes to mind off the bat, nice floral. Then I am noticing a nice sweet somewhat complex caramel aroma. Very nice smelling brew! The flavor was very good as well, I actually thought that this was a IPA that was just brewed with darker malts as the hops where quite noticeable. There was a nice malt presence there as well behind the more upfront hop flavor. The malts gave a slight roasted flavor but I picked up quite a bit of caramel. Over all this was a very tasty brew and glad to have discovered it. Will get again!

A - Pours brown with an inch of light tan head.
S - Floral and fruity hop notes with some caramel touches.
T - Floral and fruity hops also in the taste with a caramel malt base.
M - Medium bodied with a medium carbonation and a nice bitterness.
D - A nice beer but there are many others, Rogue included, that I'd buy before this.

On tap at the KC saucer

a- pours a very dark amber to almost brown. Head is mocha in color. Well retained at half a cm.

S- light grassy american hop note. bitter and edgy.

t- all caramel and crystal malts. A strong contrast to the smell. Some alcohol comes through. Does finish more bitter. The hops stick to the tongue.

m- creamy and full bodied. Slight carbonation bite. Very oily aftertaste.

d- a bit overwhelming on the palette at times due to it's well hidden hop profile. Abv is manageable. Not filling

Standard pint poured at the KC Flying Saucer. Not much head, though lacing leaves steady stair-steps down the glass. Color is a dark reddish caramel brown.

Smell has a fresh hoppy bite. Taste is equally hoppy with some rye bitterness.

Mouthfeel is very clean yet bold. very enjoyable.
