Enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This "retired" ale
pours a deep murky brown with cola highlights and a nice head of off white foam
that subsides to a thin ring and shows subtle light lacing. Nose of heavy dark maple
syrup, heavy dark raisin notes, candied prunes, oak, and dark rich bread. Flavors follow
the nose with dark breaded notes with dark woodsy maple syrup added to figs and plump
raisin flavors rich with dates and prune notes touched by brown sugars. A serious malt bomb!
Medium full body, moderately coating and sticky, low carbonation, and a sweet finish with no
detectable hops.
Overall; a solid little ale from Rogue I am privileged to have tried.
Cheers

Fantastic brew. One of the best doppelbocks I've ever had.
