September 19th, 2015 - Haven't had Rogue in awhile, but I do like the subtler styles these days, and ESBs are extra rare in San Diego. The smell is hard to catch on this one, even with plenty of nose room. But the flavor is mealy and has that shaggy, wet malt smell, with a long aftertaste punctuated with residual alcoholic strength. Not bad as an ESB, but the flavors are hard to enunciate.

Tasted in a 12 oz snifter from draught at Firkin on November 17, 2015. Look is clear deep Amber with a thin head and sticky lingering lacing. Smell is faint.
