Had on-tap at Champs in State College, PA. Poured into a goblet.
L: Pours a clear dark mahogany color. 1.5 fingers of head... nice lacing.
S: Toasted malts and candied sugars... molassas and caramel, dark fruits and fig.
T/F: Follows the nose... lots of dark sugars and darker fruits... cherry and fig, a little spice/clove. A little bit of bittering to balance it out. Rich and flavorful, and the taste becomes more full as it warms to room temp. Warming.
O: A very fine Belgian Strong Dark, and easily the best beer I've ever had from Rogue (typically not one of my favorites). Recommended.
