Pours a hazy maize color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of coffee, pale malt, sweet malt, and a hint of citrus hops. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of coffee, pale malt, sweet malt, and a hint of citrus hops. Overall, weak appearance, but decent aroma and body, good feel and blend, but weak in body.

Hmmm...strange combination of a slightly sour, acidic blonde ale with just a faint hint of coffee. Mainly orange-yellow color with a little haze, barely any lingering head or lacing. Smells faintly of malt, sweet fruit and coffee. Tastes mainly of slightly sour, acidic ale and a little malt. The actual coffee roast flavors are so faint, distant and in the background that I had to double-check the expiration date of this beer. Thin mouthfeel, decent carbonation. Don't know if I had a bad batch or if something else happened, but this was a very disappointing beer.

12 oz can- Pours mostly clear burnt orange with a medium white head. Aroma is coffee, malt, chocolate, caramel. The taste is chocolate, toffee, caramel, coffee, but light like a blonde, interesting beer.

From a twelve ounce can, this one isn't pretty...a brownish straw color, very cloudy without much of a head. Herbal, musky aroma...sharp sour coffee scents. It's not a really pleasant aroma. The taste is dry, crisp, and had a malt and coffee note in the hind-taste. Medium body. This is a disappointing and forgettable brew from a great brewery.

Pours an effervescent bronze witha sliver of cream colored head. Minimal head retention & lacing

S: Faint coffee notes

T: Follows the nose, dryness as well, faint breadyness as well, faint toffee notes as well. Mocha, dryness & a touch of nuttyness once warm, plus a little biscuitty malt. Finishs dry, with a whisper of coffee, a little grainyness, plus a little cookie dough

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation

Very drinkable, liked this more than I thought I would, better than your average Blonde

Rogue Ales "Cold Brew 2.0"

$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: So this is a "blonde ale blended with cold brew coffee"? Is that what they call a blonde or white stout? Or just a blonde coffee beer? By the way, I like that they used the word "blended" rather than "brewed" with. So, OK, it's poured a very hazy golden body beneath a finger-thick head of white foam. The aroma delivers coffee but it's soft, almost like coffee and cream. I like it, it's got a little of that peppery, spicy note that coffee can have, but at the same time it's not that bold. It's not nearly as strong of a coffee aroma as I find in most coffee beers. Moving forward... the flavor follows. There's some coffee flavor there but at the same time it clearly is a blonde ale with coffee blended in. I don't know how to look at that. Is there enough coffee? Is a little enough? For myself I feel it misses the mark. It's a decent enough beer but I feel the coffee almost distracts from it because there's not enough of it. Had it been a brown ale base, or something like that, it might have worked but I feel this seems a bit lop-sided. So I won't go into it much further. The base beer is good, nicely balanced with a basic malt frame. Not a lot of hops or yeasty fruitiness, just basic. Nutty, probably because of the coffee, and the coffee, as noted, is fairly light. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. Everything's in place, it just doesn't pull of the trick that it's attempting. I have to give a pass on this one but at the same time it's well made. Perhaps version 2.1 will be better.

If I wanted coffee, I wouldn't drink a beer that tastes like coffee. I'd go to Starbucks.
