Double Time Cherry Lime, an imperial Berliner Weisse juiced up with cherry and lime, is a light-bodied brew that packs a big punch. This beer offers a delicate balance of sweet cherries and tart lime for easy sipping during the busy season. The sour base sets the stage for the tart and sweet cherry notes to play off the citrus from the lime.
“Double Time Cherry Lime pushes the boundaries of beer,” says Rogue Brewmaster Joel Shields. “It mixes two unique styles for a naturally sour yet still sweet taste. This surprisingly refreshing and fruity beer will brighten up the cold and dreary winter days.”
Style: Imperial Berliner Weisse
IBU: 14

The beer lack of body and the malty part of taste that all beer should have. The spike of sour mask all other aspect of taste. You can sense a small ale aftertaste which is the best part of the beer.

$ 3.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.188/oz). Purchased 4/13/20 at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 4/21/20
“11/30/19” stamped on bottom. In reefer at store. Stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Dusty rose (SRM between 12 and 15), very slight haze.
Body – Rose gold (SRM 16.7, as marked on the can), opaque. When held to direct light, same.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.5 cm, aggressive center pour), pink, high density, fizzy, rapidly diminishing to a zero to one mm crown and no cap.
Lacing – None. Appropriate for the style.
Aroma – 3 – Acidic and slightly fruity, no malt, no hops, no yeastiness.
Flavor – 4 - Begins slightly tart, certainly less so than expected from the smell. A bit fruity but not distinctly cherry, you must dig for it. Lime is lost in the lactic. No malt, no hops, no yeast. No alcohol (9.1 % ABV as marked on the label) taste or aroma. No diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, watery, moderate carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4. A decent take on the style, tart and fruity. Label design has a minimum of information but includes SRM. Price point is good.

Lightly tart cherry and some muted lime. Not overly sour like other beers. A little cherry limeade on the nose. Taste is like the nose, like a melted Sonic cherry limeade. Carbonation is pretty flat. More carbonation would make this beer pop more. Well worth the $2.79 I payed for a single at HEB.

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a 12 fl oz can on January 29, 2020. An imperial Berliner Weisse juiced up with cherry and lime. The sour base sets the perfect stage for the tart and sweet cherry notes to play off the citrus from the lime. Like a song in double time, the notes hit fast yet are orchestrated and balanced within this surprisingly refreshing beer.

The balance is just not there. Can barely taste the combination of cherry and lime. The punch comes in the after taste. This beer lacks overall tartness that you would expect from this style. Would not buy in a 4 pack again unfortunately.

Overall very enjoyable beer. Best of all for being an imperial beer with a ABV of 9.1 the alchohol taste is minimal making it an easy drinking beer.

Canned 11/18/19
Appearance - Pours red with a hint of salmon. Pink, half-finger width head that fizzes away fairly quickly, resulting in a mostly barren surface; razor thin ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing, but none expected.
Smell - Tart, fruity aroma. Cherry, with lesser lime, wheat and a trace of funk.
Taste - Tart lime is the prominent flavor, with lesser cherry syrup sweetness, fair wheaty base, and a touch of yeasty funk. Finish lingers with cherry sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Near full in body and slightly syrupy, but with tingly carbonation, giving it a spritzy, dry, champagne-like impression.
Overall - Interesting beer. Good. Strong. Maybe it would work better at a lower ABV, because despite the spritzy carbonation and dry finish, it still lingers with that syrupy cherry sweetness, making it a rich brew that gets a bit tiresome as you round out the pint.
