Comes out of the tap a beautiful clear honey-golden with a decent and attractive head. Aroma is crisp and fairly strong and richly malty with just a hint of fruit. Flavor is satisfying and malty and has a subtle fruity undertone. Texture is smooth and tingly. Not Rogue's best, but worthy of them.

On tap at the Gramercy Tavern in NYC. Ordered it because i thought it would pair well with my smoked kielbasa. sauerkraut. and fingerling potatoes.

Served in a pint glass with a nice rich dark amber color...no head when the beer arrived at the table...

Aroma was amazing...nice malt, fresh baked bread, yeast and a small underlying hop balance.

Flavor was very complex...a nice yeasty breadiness, malt, caramel and a small amount of floral hops in the finish...very interesting for this style, tastes very different to me when compared to other oktoberfest styles.

The mouthfell was smooth and nicely carbonated. The low alcohol and great taste of this beer could make this a great session beer...i hope i see this in a few more places...very nice beer.

I had the special privilidge of finding this one on tap at Barley's this evening. I did not think that this one was even coming out this year, so needless to say I fell out when I saw it on tap. One of the first pints poured, this was served in a pint glass. Consumed on 10/07/2008.

The pour was very nice, rich dark amber in color with a slight haziness to it. Lots of carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass and gathering into a small, white, puffy head on the top that hung for a few minutes before settling down and leaving a touch of side glass lace.

The aroma was your typical fest beer. Rich notes of caramel malts, light german wheat and a touch of earthy hops. The flavor though was much more complex then I thought it would be. Rich notes of caramel and earthy, bready malts. A hint of some light spice actually coming through in the middle of this one, not a ton, but enough to let you know it was there. Smooth, bisuit like middle palate then fell into a very nice grain finish that left a long lasting taste deep into the finish. Nice medium bodied beer, there was more then decent carbonation and the low ABV really lended itself well to be quite sessionable.

Overall this was a very solid beer. I was really shocked to see Rogue pull off this smaller, lighter style very well. Nice and complex but very sessionable. This was what it was all about!
