a really impressive gose right here, one of my favorites we had at their newport public house, packed with raspberries and marionberries, drinkable and unique and sexy. the beer is almost flamingo pink in the glass, frosted hazy looking with a short patchy white head on it from the tap. aroma is bursting with ripe real fruit, highlighted by the minerals and brine character of the salt, and with enough wheat malt coming through to keep it beery. the flavor is awesome too, raspberries up front, way more tang than jam, awesome with the salt and the clean lactic sourness, and fluffy with the wheat, offsetting the acidity perfectly. its drying with the salt too, a very quick finish, refreshing and flavorful at the same time, very natural fruit complexion, just a little of the marionberry to me, a hint of cranberry too it seems with the tartness. great balance and drinkability, the best of the sour beers i had here for sure, and one they should consider adding to the regular lineup, super well executed and distinctive, and perfect for summer. yum!
