4 months old and this was just absolute vomit disgusting to me but it felt completely clean, so I'm assuming it was obviously on sale for a reason and I need to have it fresh but I will say I do not think this holds up well at all.

On-tap in Meridiain; served in a pint shaker, ruby-brown color with a creamy tan head. Balanced malt and hop profiles here, typical 'Winter'-style ale that end up being fairly enjoyable to me on 25-degree days. Caramel, earthy pine, citrus rind, minor spicing. Decent enough.

From a 12oz can dated 9/2/22 (canned) into a pint glass. Can says 6.7% abv as opposed to 6.6% in the BA description.
Pours a very murky dark reddish brown with about one finger of tan head. Decent retention and lacing.
Smells of caramel malts, pine and sweet bread.
Taste follows. It's a malty brew. Caramel, pine, very faint citrus.
Full-bodied, sticky mouthfeel with a dry-ish finish. Bitter aftertaste. Medium to high carbonation.
This is a nice beer. Great for winter time drinking.

12 oz. can, canned 09/21/22, which seems a little soon for a 'Winter Ale' but it's given this bad boy some time to mature just a tad. Can lists a 6.70% abv, so it looks like it has been amped up just a notch. Intriguing can art, I come to find this has been one of Rogue's beers for more than a decade, although I can't recall having seen it available here before in Chicagoland.
Poured to a Friday the 13th stemless wine snifter.
Body is a dark ruby-chestnut color, strong finger of frothy tan cream head leaves behind excellent lacing.
Huge piney West Coast hop bitterness pushes it's way through a wall of dark malt roast & dark fruit sweetness. Huge notes of figs, dates, prunes, piney hops, with just a touch of peppercorn. Warm, hoppy, & inviting.
Taste follows the nose: huuugely bitter with both hops and notes of dark figgy sweetness. There are just mounds of dark fruit flavor coming out of this thing: figs, dates, raisins. Refreshing citrus / hop bite. Has that clean yeasty Rogue feel to it, if you know what you're after.
Body is smooth & creamy, with medium fullness and good heft. Easy-drinking despite the richness.
Overall, I again have no trouble rating a Rogue beer with 4's across the board.

Nice medium to dark amber body, somewhat cloudy; thick, frothy and creamy head, light khaki colored; sticky rings and patches of foam cling to the glass. Muted smell; hint of rich malt sweetness; caramel; vague holiday spiciness, cinnamon and ginger come to miind. Rich, malt-forward flavor; caramel; a bit of vanilla and roasted nuts. Medium-heavy body; dense, velvety residual sugar mouthfeel; mild overall warmth.
A pleasant, malt-forward winter warmer that complements a cold, late Fall morning (current outside temperature is 8 °F at the time of this review).
Pouring temperature: 44 °F: canning info: 09/02/22 ; source: neighbor's gift

Poured from a can. Brown with a tan head and lacing. Smells of citrus mainly. Very citrus in the flavor also. Expecting more roasted grains and malt. More like a black ipa almost than a winter warmer.

Deep mahogany color. 1-2 finger tight off white head. Not long lasting, though, and just a token amount of lacing. Subtle to Moderately malty/spicy scent. I find the flavor a bit too citrus rind dominant with malt receding waaaay back into the background. Light side of moderate body for a winter warmer, but fairly clean finish. Just too much citrus rind for me.

12 oz. can from a 6 -pack. Purchased at Grocery Outlet, D-Street store Salem OR.
$10.99.
Pours a nice chocolate brown with a lovely tan head. leaves fantastic lace.
Aroma rich toasted malts , semi dark chocolate, medium roast coffee handsome floral hop in the backing.
Taste is the same as the aroma but with the addition of dark fruits and drunken fruitcake notes.
Mouth feel is great for this style and time of year. Medium thick with medium to low carbonation. Goes down a treat.
Overall a lovely Oregon winter beer.

Ok, I’m ok. And you? And that’s where I’m at with this one. A few butterflies in the sky, green grass down below, and Raul is chilling on the lay low. Not feeling mighty, but I still step lightly. On my way to live. On my way to keep living.

love this time of year, and i love a winter ale without spices in it, this is hoppy enough and hopped in such a way that it seems spicy, if not spiced, pine and juniper and herbal bitterness, almost medicinal bitterness, i think an appropriate intensity for this time of year, its dark early now, its frosty in the mornings, i can see my breath when i walk my dog, i like this kind of thing in this weather. awesome head on it, belgian looking to me, tan colored, big and creamy, three inches high and holding shape well above the rim of my glass, mahogany brown been beneath it, lovely lace. notes of raisin, tobacco, and leather in aroma and flavor along with all the hops, northwestern for sure, pine forward, intense, sweet for a flash but not at the end, almost english on the ale yeast here, but kind of oddly crisp for being this malty too, it smells like it tastes and it tastes like it smells, the body is full but the carbonation is high enough where this doesnt seem heavy as it really is. suggestions of toffee, dry cocoa, and pipe tobacco as it warms, oily hop palate coating bite, creamy smooth texture that softens the edges. really flavorful stuff, definitely not for everyone, sort of works like a hoppy brown, but its more than that, and it fits the winter well. i am excited about the rest of the sixer i scooped up last night!

On tap at the prototype brewery. Hoppier than a winter warmer usually in s, but that was a nice change of pace.
