just a tad sweet but really delicious beer right here. i wasnt sure what it was at first, was thinking some kind of dessert beer, like i swear i can smell and taste a little vanilla in here, like a strawberry shortcake sort of deal, whipped cream and all, lactose maybe, but i dont know that it actually has any of that in it, and in fact might just be sweet from fruit and grain. the strawberry is so obvious and bold and rather natural in here, id hate for it to be fermented drier and its intensity lost, thats neat to leave it like this. i think there is a honey note in the malt, but this is pretty light on the grain side, but together with the fruit it does sort of create that dessert vibe. i wish they gave us a little more information about this one, but it was a favorite around our table where we all got tasting flights and shared. im surprised to learn its as strong as it is, seems like a light summery drink where an abv approaching 7% would be impossible, but here we are. its not overly complex but i like the sweet ripe strawberry, the light floral kick this has, and the little bit of vanilla coming through, just an impression perhaps, but its there for me. fermented clean, minimally hopped, this is real clever beer for this time of year!
