Beachy Clean is a modern take on the classic West Coast IIPA with a big aroma that features lemon, stone fruit and sweet fruit notes. The flavor consists of a good malt base with spikes of citrus and pine flavors coming through the fruit notes. The beer finishes with a nice balance of piney, hoppy bitterness, mouthwatering citrus and a sweet malty base.

pours a dark orange, almost like an amber ale with an off-white head that is medium in size. Has a nice malt body with a floral and tropical fruit aroma. The taste is quite good with a mild hop flavor and a nice mild bitter finish. 48 IBUs Rated 8-11-2022

A good cause, for sure, but the pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug is disappointing. Even though it's becoming more frequent, seeing an IPA with an overblown fluffy head isn't good. Only when wheat is substituted for barley malt does this occur. As usual, the head is stark white, overly foamy and recedes in an uneven and unattractive manner. There's no lacing inside the glass where there once was foam. This is one visual that almost always accurately predicts a less than outstanding brew. The aroma is much more grainy than hoppy, odd for a self-styled West Coast IPA. Although the taste isn't bad, it lacks the piney bite of a good representation of this style. As expected, wheat cannot replace barley malt when it comes to mouthfeel. This drinks thinly and the overall is saved only by its pleasant taste. It may not be as sharply hoppy as what is expected from something in this category, but the taste is emjoyable, with a nice mild balance of a starchy base and hop infusion. There is a mildly distracting taste of alcohol, but it doesn't spoil the overall drinking experience. But this is a buy for the cause, not for the taste beer.
