A great seasonal from the Wig. I was lucky enough to taste this ale this week whilst in Canberra with some friends, and now have a keg of it in my fridge at home (thanks Rich!).
Orange amber in colour, dense white head, carbonation working well.
Aromas of malt, biscuits, earthy, fruity hops. An awesome aroma, that had my tastebuds awaiting more of my arvo at the Wig.
Tasted great too (no suprise there). Malty, resiny hops, biscuity, slight hop tang on the front of the tongue, a sweetness like honey(?), but not diacetyl. Maybe a hint of roastyness from the crystal, and a lingering hop bitterness that finishes off with the malt again.
I can't wait to tap that baby tomorrow night!
