This pours a very slightly hazy, golden colour with a fluffy, tight, creamy, off-white head. Great head retention and lacing.
A solid, floral apricot and peach aroma comes through providing a good level of frangrance. A slight off-note provides a barely detectable but almost putrid hint in the background. It doesn't really detract but it is there in a tiny quantity.
A very tasty beer, Grasscutters has a soft but well constructed start with soft maltiness playing well with a hop and yeast driven fruitiness. A good midpalate showcases grassy and lightly citrussy hops with a hint of peach playing a role as well. A light touch of caramel adds a malt touch to balance this beer out nicely. The finish is okay with a solid, lingering bitterness working okay but being just a little bit harsh and astringent.
A medium body and low carbonation work well here but a slightly lighter body may work better to carry this beer. Otherwise, the creamy, silky smooth ale is great.
A very good beer from the Wig and Pen with only a couple of minor rough edges which fail to really detract from an otherwise solid beer.
