Clear, deep red colour with a moderate light tan head. Poor head retention but good lacing.
Toasty, bready malt aroma with some fruit. Cherry and baked apple.
Smooth, sweet esters with cherry and pear notes. Slightly spicy with a cinnamon note. A touch of raisin. Fresh and fruity dubbel compared to some of the darker, brooding examples of the style.
Medium body with moderately-high carbonation. Crisp.
A solid beer but it isn't anything exceptional. The finish is a bit empty and I want a touch more caramelised fruit.
