Set up a brewery tour/tasting here before our visit to Dunedin. One of the owners was happy to set up a time for us to check out the brewery and taste the beers.
Atmosphere is nothing special. A small building (looked like an old auto shop) converted to a brewery. A small tasting area up front, brewing equipment in the back. This is a small operation, I think they had something like 4 total employees.
Quality was mostly good. We sampled about 10 different beers. A few were duds, some tasty stuff, mostly British Styles, and a few odd balls like Tequilla Beer, (I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would) Shandy, and Ginger Beer.
Service was great, the owner was super friendly, and talkative.
We were charged $20 NZ per person for the tasting, but we got the equivilant of probably 3 pints a piece, so not a bad deal at all.
Overall, a worthy stop. Even though the beers weren't great, we certainly had a good time here.
