"A chocolate silky smooth draw" is the catch line for this beer.
Appearance- A dark black body with brown highlights. The head is somewhat present and creamy. Good retention and it leaves a a fair amount of lacing. The carbonation is there with the style.
Smell- A real strong nose of dark chocolate and cocoa powder. Its like being in a chocolate house. There is oatmeal and other roasted malt/grain is there as well.
Taste- A real chocolate bomb, with the taste coming from the malt and whatever else is in the recipe. The oatmeal does allow this to come through more.
Mouthfeel- Very smooth at the beginning of each sip but its quite dry by the end of each sip. Its almost like a dry stout, so quite unexpected but an interesting development.
Drinkability- It was easy enough to finish a pint, but afterward, I was ready for something else.
