Pours a non see through black kola hue which leaves a one finger fast vanishing head and chocolate rim of lacing, the smell isboozy alcohol, dark chocolate, fruity hops and dark expresso its alright just feels a little weak and the mouthfeel is just under medium bodied and definately lacking the body of a true RIS with tastes of dark chocolate first up followed by some milky cappicino, dark fruit, roasted toasted malts,a touch of booze and finished more like a hoppy porter than a RIS with a touch of cherry aswell and overall whenever i see a RIS labeled as The CZAR i expect big things and this brew clearly did not live up to its name and would not buy again cheers.

Bottle from liquor land in Auckland.
Pours a dark thick black that you would expect from the style... though 8.5% seems a bit low for the style. Not much head at all, thus no lacing either. Nose has a lot of soy sauce... reminds me of the 8wire istout and ten fidy nose. Some booze on it, and the typical coffee and chicolate, but really smells like weak ten fidy.
Taste is very boozy, not enough malt in this... also very thin... with low carbonation...hops are lacking as well. This just seems like a pretty generic RIS.
