(From notes)

Pours a nearly jet black color with lots of ruby highlights around the edges, just a barely there light tan head that could have used more presence.

Aroma has good roasted malt notes and a little coffee, a faint whiff of sweetness, but not too much at all. Nothing overwhelming, but more than solid in this dept. Flavor continues with a nice roastiness, bittersweet chocolate, and a faint coffee note that is luckily not overtaken by any grains or sweetness. Actually pretty well put-together and tasty for the style. MF is a bit thinner than I would hope for the style, but not bad with suitable carbonation. Shockingly good drinking, and by far the best offering from this brewpub. Worth a look if it happens to be on tap when one visits. Not bad at all!

Went to Les Brasseurs after a pretty solid day of drinking mostly Belgians so this beer was a welcomed change of pace. I got a liter and it was easy drinking the whole way. Nice roasty aroma and flavor. Highly recommended as this appeared to be their best offering.
