Had on tap. Indeed an amber red body with a tan head, plenty of thin lacing. Malt bomb in all aspects (amber slightly caramel variety). Warming earthy yeast and slight red apple and prune esters in the taste, nose is all malt and a hint of more general dark fruit. Feel is malt with some dry yeast to finish, lighter bodied and smooth but no complexity at all. No glaring issues though

Presented in mini-tulip glass

Enjoyed at Brasserie Du Molard while visiting Geneva, Switzerland.

A: Murky grapefruit. Almost no head on this guy...just a few lingering bubbles.

S: Caramel, vanilla, plum peel, raisins. Interesting and unexpected.

T: Medium malt body that is very pleasant with a nice balance of caramel. Hints of plum and craisin come thru, but do not over-power the lingering sweetness. Very enjoyable!

M: Medium body with almost no carbonation.

O: For me, this did not drink like a normal amber, but I really enjoyed that about it. There were several layers and it was decently complex. By far my favorite of their three offerings at this classy Swiss brewpub.

(From notes)

Poured with a creamier, fairly dense half-finger of foam; ruby burnt orange color.

Aroma of light musky grapes; touch yeasty; grainy; not very appetizing in the smell. Things improve with the taste, light grains but not as cereal-like as suggested in the nose. Touch of sour fruitiness; cereal...eh. Nothing close to being an American interpretation of the style. Complete absence of a malt profile and/or hops that suggest something along those style lines. Medium to thinner body; softer carbonation. Not a great drinker, really uninteresting but it's slightly better than macro swill. Serviceable in a pinch.

Being unfiltered, this beer poured a an opaque brown [basically, looks like apple cider] with a thick, creamy light brown head. Head hung around for a short time. Nice lacing.
Very nice start.

Aroma is of fermenting fruit [apples].

Taste is of sweet malts with only some light hops at the end.

Mouthfeel is flat and listless. No carbonation.

Overall, a very easy to drink brew. Other than the mouthfeel, I wouldn't mind having another [or several].
