I sampled this lacey golden ale at NERAX. While it was attractive, and contained a seductive cracked-grain aroma there was little of substance inside the aptly named blonde bombshell. The strong citrus flavors overpowered the mild malt presence from the beginning of a sip through the lingering aftertaste. I should have known not to expect much from a beer with a scantily clad woman on its cask-handle.

NERAX 04
Under a lovely, lacey head, the bright amber brew fades to straw at the bottom. Then you're hit with a huge eggy, sulfury pong. Once you get past that, you find a watery ale, with some bruised apple fruit in the malt, and a metal finish. At least it's not hard to kill it off.
All looks and no substance.

Sampled at NERAX on cask.
This ale poured a fairly clear golden color with minimal foam from cask. The smell was malty with a bit of floral hops. The taste was a nice balance of malt and floral hops. The flavors were mild and worked nicely together. The mouthfeel was smooth and clean with medium body. This was a very drinkable ale.
Sampled at 2004 NERAX. The beer had a noticeable sulfur smell this time. I would rate the appearance and smell as 3.5 this time around.
