Medium, deep amber colour with a thumb sized, foamy white head that stays consistent throughout.
Typical cask aroma with a lot of fruit undertones and a hint of berry and orange in there too. There is a light citrus backgroun aroma and touches of hops as well.
Creamy, fruity taste to begin with that is backed by a lot of bitterness and some lighter hops around the middle. There is some citrus malts as well and a hint of sweetness.
Medium to full bodied and fairly still, bordering on flat with very low carbonation and a lot of bitterness at the end.
A basic cask ale really, slightly flat but that is to be expected I guess. Pleasant enough but slowly becomes a bit of a struggle to finish towards the end.

On cask at Dog and Duck, Soho, London.
Deep amber with a slight film.
Orange marmalade nose.
Peanut skins and bread crusts in the malts with Grand Marnier and flower hops. Fruity finish and sticky orange linger.
Medium, chewy with some oil.
Sneaks up. Are there lots of middle kettle hops in there? Enough to entertain once you commit. Careful with this one.

Tasted by a half-pint at the Capitol, a JDW pub in Forest Hill, SE London.
A: light amber in colour, coming with an off-white froth and very low level carbonation.
S: floral scent, sweet citrus, and cara-malts intertwine quite harmoniously, backed by a mild hint of Muscat-like white grapes and a stinky edge of chestnuts. Very interesting.
T: chocolate- and cara-malts together make an almost nougat-like nutty-creamy taste upfront, followed by dryish earthy hoppiness with a faintly tart edge; the well-lingering and soothing bitterness rounds off the palate to a very satisfying finish. The flavour profile is nicely structured, presenting different flavours almost in a neat yet seamless order...
M&D: very smooth in texture (poured w/o a sparkler) with plentiful microscopic fizziness to enjoy on the tongue, this is a balanced, malty, "lesser" English IPA that still shows an intriguing & complex hop mixture. Very enjoyable!
