On cask poured into a nonic glass. The aroma is a blend of malty caramel and a light marmalade. It pours a brilliant and oily amber color with a dense white foam of varying bubble sizes that has good retention and a great layer of thick sheet lace. The taste is a balanced, mellow, medium bittersweet. The texture is oily with a very light suds carbonation. The medium body is flavored with caramel, bread, and a light marmalade touch. The finish is smooth and malty with a mild, clean orange peel and clove. The aftertaste is clean, with some bitter clove like qualities.

The first beer tasted at the Piglet 2 Mini-Beerfestival, Leyton, London, 24/02/06. Served by the handpump.
A: pours a colour of dark orangey golden, slightly hazy, coming with a thick beer head settling down to a fluffy cap, low carbonated body.
S: very "thick" fragrance of ripe lychees and orange-fruit cake(Cascade hops), backed by honeyish and butterscotch maltiness~~ really fragrant hoppy and malty at the same time.
T: chewy biscuit malts upfront, followed by an intense flavour of bitter, flowery hops and a little roasted nutty edge; very light and lingering spicy/peppery and dryish finish; good lingering bitterness in the aftertaste, but overall the flavour is much lighter than the suggestion from the aroma.
M: slightly flat and/because the temp. is not ideal, but the lingering bitterness makes the palate at the back especially soothing and satisfying.
D: pretty good quality bitter with Cascade hops as the sole hop variety used in this brew, but apparently the aroma speaks louder than the palate~~
