Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a light orangish-brown color with a white head. The aroma is brown sugar and allspice. The flavor is slightly tart with some brown sugar and the regular pumpkin pie spices: allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. You also get a lot of caramel malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

~ Purchased this 750 ml bottle from Bellport beer in Bellport, NY.

Bottle description:

Autumn Harvest 2008 is brewed with roasted pumpkin and butternut squash grown at the Butternut Valley farm. Infused into the mash along with roasted sweet potato these ingredients impart color and earthy flavor tones. Spices are added to the kettle and the beer is fermented with our house ale and Saison yeast strains. The beer is spontaneously soured and aged creating flavors of sour candy and mild spice with a clean finish.

Appearance: Pours a clear orange/gold color with a small white head.

Smell: There is definitely some barnyard funk present here. It is sour, vinegary, and a little spicy. I also picked out some of the roasted pumpkin, butternut squash, and sweet potato.

Taste: Funky, sour, and sweet. It is sour up front, but the addition of roasted pumpkin and sweet potato balances it out well.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Drinkability: Considering everything going on in this beer, it went down easy and was a real treat to drink. ~
