Single finger thick head with excellent lacing on a deep amber body, not as dark as I want, body. Also very clear for the style. Aroma of bonfire, cooked meats and subtle caramel sweetness. Flavor follows with the smokiness you want without the roasted malt balance from the base beer. I suspected the base beer to be inadequate from the aroma and look. The smokiness reminds of a raunchier but more understated with some smoked meats and peat to it. Thin body even for the style and light to moderate carbonation.
