Pours a deep brown amber color with a light tan head that fades into a moderate lace. Nose is fresh coconut and bready malt with a hint of chocolate in the background. Taste is roasted chocolaty malt and a bit of toffee along with notes of coconut. The coconut is not at all overpowering but is there in just the right amount. I really enjoyed this beer—one of my favorite Covey offerings.

Pours a dark mahogany with a thin khaki head that fades about halfway down. Nose is dusty malt, no sweetness at all, and just a trace of cocoanut.
Taste is at first mostly dark roasted malt and brown ale flavors. A rich, nutty base with chocolate malt and nice earthy, peat elements. Cocoanut flavors are not as apparent as expected but are detectable late in the taste along with some vanilla. Sweetness and cocoanut flavors build over time, so the end of the glass is different than the start.
Mouthfeel is medium, very drinkable. Stands alone as a brown ale, only made better with the cocoanut addition as it's not strong enough to wear on the palate. I could session this.
