Came in the glass an inky black with a thin caramel colored head. Smells of cocoa powder, dark roast coffee, and coconut(?). Flavor starts off with a mix of chocolate and that odd (but enjoyable) coconut edge. I really don't know what could be causing it, but I've picked up on it the last 2 times I've had this beer. Big roasted notes come toward the middle. Finish is drying with some resinous hop oils. Mouthfeel is smooth with a body and weight to it that sits somewhere between light and medium. Solidly impressed with this one, but I don't think I could session this one, as I believe the abv to be somewhere around 6%.
