Chilled hazed deep copper hue. Thin, soapy cream white head yields loose lace. Aroma comprised of mild pine and stately grapefruit. Medium lovibond caramel provides token sweetness. Devoid of esters. Very clean and tame aromawise. In flavor, hop flavor is of lemon zest and dilute pine sap. Moderate in hop bitterness. Simple, rounded caramel malt backbone with a biscuit undertone. Squeaky clean. Dextrinous and smooth in mouthfeel. Quite conducive to easy, satiating quaffing. Finishes a lingering with dark toffee and citrus rind balance. A well balanced, but somewhat understated IPA. Designed as a Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale clone, but falls a bit short at that. Regardless, it's a tasty brew with fine drinkability.
