not a bad brew overall, but also pretty boring. pours a decent looking clear brown colour with a very thin tan head. talking a whiff of this one, i barely picked up any rye notes, more of a chocolate/earthy smell that you'd expect from a brown ale. i actually had to ask the bartender to assure me that he gave me the rock n roggen. he assured me he did and after a few minutes of warming up, the rye smell became more apparent. the body is crisp and medium to thin. it's actually a bit watery and lacking in any dominant flavour. everything in the smell is here in flavour but nothing wants to take charge and pack a flavourful punch. could have been worse, but i was expecting more rye flavour and more flavour in general from this one.
