Another new offering from the Tun, this one is basically (and they blatantly say it in the beer's description) their tasty Nut Brown Ale, which is one of my favourite Tun brews, but with some honey added during the brewing process. The result amounts to a brew that, while still nice, just doesn't have the appeal of the regular Nut Brown Ale.
This one pours a nice brown colour with a creamy, somewhat chunky head and a good amount of stickiness.
The aromas include nut, earth, honey, chocolate, etc and are nice but once again a bit faint.
The flavour is more of the same with the honey cutting into the roasted flavour of the malt and the nut flavour as well to provide for a bit more sweetness and smoothness. There is a nice balance with the honey thrown into the mix, but it does take away from the heartiness of the brew a bit and also allows it to become less rugged in the mouthfeel.
Again, I really like the Nut Brown so any sort of minor variation on it will be appealing to me, and I think this is a nice brew in its own right that is definitely worth a try, but it's a slight drop off from the original.
