This is a nice new brew from Ted @ the Tun.
It pours a slightly hazed light amber colour with a frothy head atop the liquid.
The aroma is a nice blend of sweetness: fruit, candy and general sugar notes with a touch of soaked wood in the mix as well.
Flavour echoes the aroma nicely, starting out a bit fruity and quickly mixing with some candy sweetness. There's a bit of tartness throughout here as well as a surprisingly semi-rugged bitter finish. This one's a touch hot from the alcohol as well and has a medium body to it.
This is good stuff overall. I was on the fence as to listing this one as a Belgian Strong Dark or a Belgian Strong Pale and was leaning toward the former, but a recent email from the brewery listed it as a Belgian Style Strong Golden Ale, and, whilst not really that colour in appearance in my opinion, Golden screams Pale (at least to me), so that's what I went with. Regardless, try this limited release if you can get your hands on some.
