From growler purchased day before:
Pours mahogany to brown with a thin tan head that settles to a lasting swirl.
The smell is of bubblegum/cotton candy from a Belgian yeast strain with slight herbal/earthy spicing and a "brown" maltiness that is somewhat cocoa-ish with medium-dark fruitiness.
A nice Belgian yeast strain gives a candy/bubblegum sweetness to a sweetish cocoa-ish, nutty maltiness. It has a hint of roast and balanced by an earthy, slightly herbal dryness in the finish. Alcohol is well-covered with just a hint as it progresses.
Could use a bit more effervescence, though it could be from growler (though less than 24 hrs. since purchase). Despite that it does have a smooth texture.
A fairly complex, interesting brew that drinks easily for abv, which has been upped to just over 7%. The use of a Belgian yeast strain gives an interesting, well-done twist to an English Brown (with an "American" touch). A tasty Belgian-esque/English/American brown hybrid. Well-worth trying!

This beer poured a dark amber color rather than a brown, no real head, but it was in a small sample glass so I didnt expect one. Apparent roasted coffee and chocolate notes in the aroma as well as in the flavor. Low malt body, but has a good bitterness. A light drinking American Brown.
