First had: on tap at their brewery
Winter seasonal; had in 2010. Not a bad Scottish ale. Somewhat tasty, but definitely not the best I've had of the style, and like just about everything at the Tun Tavern, there was something in this beer that just didn't seem right.
Poured a slightly hazy chestnut brown with a small, patchy white head. Aroma of caramel malts, peat, and dark sugars; a tad phenolic. Taste is similar to the aroma, with toasty malts, brown sugar and caramel, peat, and overripe bananas. Medium-bodied and moderately drinkable, but I probably wouldn't go back after one glass unless I had no choice.
