Pours a murky brown colour that has a bit of a cola-like appearance to it. There's a smallish sized head here that leaves minimal amounts of residue on the glass.
Aroma is chocolate with some toffee notes and a bit of earthy malt. There's a nice ruggedness here that blends well with some dark fruit aromas. Nice and dry if that makes sense for an aroma.
The flavour takes the aroma and beefs it up for an awesome experience: there is lots of toffee in play here. It's strange to say but this one is a bit meaty as well, and it's damn good and fits in well. Alcohol blends in nicely and is apparent but not overbearing. There are some dark berry notes that cut through to provide for a nice sweetness that blends well with the rest of the flavours. Mouthfeel is full bodied and slick, with a chewy heartiness to it.
This is just a solid, kick-ass beer all around. It's easily the best of the brews that Tim has put on since joining the Tun team. Seek this one out if you still can. An excellent brew.
