On tap at Tun Tavern on 7/4/08.
A - Clear copper/dark amber body with one-and-a-half finger bright white head that transformed into some very intricate lacing. Virtually no carbonation bubbles are visible.
S - Caramel and toffee sweetness with a bit of a nutty aroma. Some mild noble hops are also present in the back.
T - Sweet malts dominate the flavor with hints of caramel, toffee, vanilla and honey. Hops are quite subdued with perhaps only a bit of grass and earthiness making an appearance.
M - Medium body with a syrupy base and lively carbonation that is a bit prickly on the palate. Carbonation settles to deliver a clean, even sweetness on the tastebuds with very minimal bitterness.
D - Pretty flavorable session beer and a good stab at the style. It's nice to see breweries are making more dark lagers lately. Solid effort!

Pours a dark amber colour with hints of a more brown colour. Head is minimal in size and leaves spotty amounts of residue that don't stick but rather slide down the glass.
The aroma is a nice blend of caramel, slightly burnt malt and some sweetish, floral hops. It's simple but nice.
The flavour hits on the key points of the aroma but brings more of a burnt malt flavour to the front to give the taste more of an earthiness. Sweetness from the caramel as well as the floral hops are of course still present but make their presence known mostly toward the finish of each sip. Mouthfeel is light bodied and fairly typical for a "basic" lager.
This is a nice, easy drinking session brew. It's balanced well and just works all around. A nice addition to the Tun lineup.
